Why I Do What I Do

My passion for Human Resources is driven by meaningful interaction, empathy, and a mission to ensure all career paths in any organization I serve are open, equitable, and inclusive. I believe that every job, every career, should be open to every person with no boundaries. To achieve these ends, I specialize in recruiting strategy, employee retention, implicit bias training, crucial conversations about race and crafting equitable and inclusive practices that enrich the workplace experience for all.

    • Lead and co-lead recruitments with hiring managers and provide support for staff recruitments, including managing candidate rosters, constructing malleable hiring committees, and ensuring recruitments are equitable and inclusive

    • Manage and organize job fairs and employee goodwill events

    • Assist with sourcing strong candidates for staff job searches, including outreach to communities of color, masculine and feminine-identifying persons, the LGBTQA+ community, and other marginalized groups whose members would contribute to the equity and diversity of college staff

    • Emerging Professionals of Portland (EPOP) is a program that offers emerging professionals a place to prosper and develop their careers, build a peer network and gain exposure to business leaders. EPOP offers programming focused on educational and professional development, as well as civic engagement and networking opportunities. As a Board Member I work with my fellow colleagues on the Board to conceptualize and execute programming as well as utilize social media to connect with the community.

    January 2017 - Current

    • The Management Development Seminars series is a set of low-cost trainings offered during the months of the academic calendar with the goal of helping managers and staff members at colleges and universities across the Pacific Northwest strengthen their leadership acumen. I handle administrative and event coordination for the Willamette Valley Higher Education HR Consortium’s Management Development Seminars series, including but not limited to sourcing content providers and facilitators, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, registration of attendees, and scheduling of events and consortium team meetings.
