On Fishback and the Morality Police

It will forever frustrate and anger me that an entire political party in a country with an archaic two-party system is absolutely loaded with pedophiles, hebephiles, ephebophiles, rapist, sexual predators, hatemongers, and closeted gay, lesbian, and queer individuals who have been indoctrinated by "Christianity" to hate themselves so much they weaponize that hate to harm others.

I'm not even shocked anymore when these creatures are outed for the horrible things they've done or are still doing. This is so normalized in the Republican party, and politics in general, that I'm not as shocked about them anymore as much as I'm shocked about how they keep getting re-elected and how many of y'all - who always stand up as the morality police whenver these horrible people pop up in the news cycle - will defend these creatures when the truth inevitably comes out about who they are.

That part says a lot about how some of y'all are fine with the things these people do as long as you possibly receive a benefit from them being in office.

Just so you know, supporting creatures so you can maintain comfort and privilege? That's also some creature-level behavior.

I mean, you probably don't care, but I wanted to make sure your moral compass got the news so you could navigate through that.

On Genocidal Holidays, Pallor Fragility, and Willful Ignorance

I haven't wished people a "Happy Thanksgiving" for years. I don't think this federal holiday deserves well-wishes for obvious (terroristic, white supremacist, big colonizer energy) reasons. Instead, when people who celebrate the holiday wish me a Happy Thanksgiving or ask me what I'm doing for the holiday, I state that I don't observe the holiday - no extra context or nothing, because I expect most adults to get it without me spelling it out. I then mention that I hope they're celebrating this holiday with intentionality and an understanding of the historical context of the holiday and its branding.

And whew, y'all.

People of pallor do not like it when I say that. Not one bit.

You should see their reactions, y'all. They either say something like, "Well, I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving anyway, Pharoah" with that Karen/Kevin energy with their face all contorted with derision or find a way to get away from me as soon as possible and end the conversation they initiated. And it's funny to me that they do this, because it proves that many people of pallor can only exist and operate in a space that caters to them willingly ignoring how harmful so many things in pallor culture, society, and history really are.

You know you can have some turkey on Thursday with your family while acknowledging how funky Thanksgiving as a holiday and concept really is, right? It doesn't have to take away from the meal.

You can be thankful for the blessings you have while also having the fortitude to digest and understand history and educate others on how harmful this week's festivities can be for Native and Indigenous communities and tribes.

It doesn't have to be one or the other.

Knowledge and empathy should always trump feeling cozy in ignorance.

Just sayin'.

And most of y'all's turkeys be dry anyway, so is being willfully ignorant and eatin' unmoisturized meat worth it?

On Pharrell and Catering to Those Who Don't Care About You

To my melanated folx: today, choose not to be Pharrell.

Choose this tomorrow, too.

And the day after. And the day after that.

Just add "don't be Pharrell" to your daily philosophy system.

Don't let that paper-thin "acceptance" from pallor audiences and the vestiges of tokenism sold to you as perks, privilege, and capitalist gains make you a tool of your white supremacist oppressors against other oppressed communities, especially not your own people.

Also, don't wear those hats like he was doin' for a while there. Only Cree Summer can rock those.

On Clay, Louisiana, and Being Careful About Who You Choose To Represent You

The House chamber has overwhelmingly passed a bipartisan bill that would compel the Justice Department to release all its Epstein case files. The vote? 427-1. The one holdout? GOP Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana. Why?

He's worried about the innocent people this could hurt.

You know, the innocent people who were physically, mentally, and psychologically harmed, sexually assaulted, trafficked, and raped, who have been seeking justice for YEARS.

Oh wait - he's not talking about those innocent people, is he? Because if he were, he would've heard their pleas for justice and wouldn't have voted no.

Hey, Louisianans: I hope y'all finally take the time to make Clay feel VERY welcome when he gets back home, seeing how so many of y'all are as invested in getting these Esptein files out to the public as the rest of us, and this seems to be the only thing right now most of us are in solidarity about.

I mean, he's been voting against your best interests since y'all elected him and is a regular keynote speaker with such "wonderful organizations" as the Oath Keepers and the Three Percenters, which should truly be disqualifiers for y'all when it comes to voting for his ass. Still, nothing has seemed to push y'all to boot Clay from office, so we'll take what we can get.

Vote these horrible creatures out of office, y'all. Your vote can change your city, state, and this country for the better. It is one of the truly pivotal powers we have as the citizenry.

They ain't out here tryin' to gerrymander districts and voting maps for no reason.

On Emails, Allegations, and Collective Engagement

So... let’s talk about the elephant in the room.

At this point, I’m sure you’ve seen that one email from the 20,000+ Epstein emails alluding to an alleged sex act between two former presidents (one of them being the current acting president).

In less than 24 hours, that damn email has produced countless memes, skits, sketches, and jokes, and has become one of the hottest topics of conversation across the internet. We’ve all had us a nice lil’ laugh about it, our minds speculating wildly. I, too, got caught in the salaciousness of the situation, bringing it up to my wife a couple of times last night. My wife, being the person that she is, did not engage in the laughfest. Instead, she hit me with some realness.

We’re all participating in some groupthink homophobia, and it is not a good look, y’all.

Real talk? An alleged sex act between two consenting adults, regardless of their public personas and heteronormative nonsense they’ve both spewed over the years, is the most “whatever” part of this email leak at this point. Seriously. There are thousands of emails talking about sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and the assault of minors by prominent and wealthy people, y’all’s president likely being one of the people who either openly participated, knew all of this was happening, and decided not to stop it, or both. And yet here we all are, stuck on an alleged sex act between two cis men. We’re laughing about sexual relations between two men, likely because many of us are either unconsciously latching onto the piece of information from this info dump that is the least upsetting to us or taking this as another opportunity to engage in anti-gay rhetoric. Either way?

We’re collectively in the wrong, and many of us are doing inadvertent harm to our gay and queer friends, family, and neighbors.

Let’s not allow this distraction - because that’s precisely what it has become - to dominate our collective consciousness and pull us away from the fact that two of this country’s presidents were likely a part of a sex trafficking ring that catered to pedophiles, hebephiles, and ephebophiles.

And their victims deserve justice.
